Tartu College (established 2005 as The Institute of Sustainable Technology, Tartu College since September 1st, 2007) is a research and development institution at Tallinn University of Technology what is providing educational, research and innovation services in the fields of technology. The main research directions of the college are industrial ecology, nature conservation, landscape ecology and landscape architecture, sustainable livelihoods and life quality, technologies of urban environment, recycling of natural resources.
The activity types of the college are applied research, environmental planning, fundamental research, landscape planning and architecture, policy preparation/analysis, training and education. The college has competency in biodiversity research and management, environmental quality, rural and urban development and management, environmental economy, ecological networks, sustainable development and human impact on the natural environment.
The Tartu College is a member of ECNC Network since 2006. Our staff participated in the projects of European 5th and 6th Frameworks, LIFE-Nature and Plantlife International projects, grants of the Royal Society, Wellcome Trust and Estonian Science Foundation.
